Big League Baseball School and Buckeye Elite Showcase Tournament have been providing an opportunity for talented baseball players to demonstrate their skills to recruiters and scouts at The Annual Buckeye Elite Invitational Showcase. The participating players are recommended by their respective coaches as players who possesses the talent to compete at the college and professional level. These invited players are drawn from the 180 plus tournament teams representing ten states and Canada.
Showcase Directors, former Major League players, Dan Briggs and John Pacella understand that a showcase must serve the players and recruiters equally by providing players the opportunity to display their skills and presenting quality players to recruiters, all in a well organized and time efficient format.
The Buckeye Elite Invitational Showcase has quickly earned a reputation for not only attracting impressive baseball talent, but has been acclaimed by coaches and scouts as "one of the best run showcases" they have ever attended -- attributed to an innovative, multi-station, skill assessment format and effective time management.
Showcase Details
• Players will check-in from 10:00-11:00 am • Recruiter check-in begins at 11:00am-12:00 Noon • Showcase begins at 12:00 Noon
All players will be timed in the 60 yard run following the registration. All position players may choose to participate in two skill assessments.
Payers will begin each segment in the following order:
Outfielders will be required to catch fly balls and ground balls, make throws from right field area to third base and home plate.
Infielders Shortstops, Second and Third Basemen will all demonstrate throwing and fielding skills from the shortstop area of the infield.
First Basemen will receive throws from infielders and demonstrate fielding and throwing skills (fielding ground balls from the bag and throwing to second and third, plus throws to third from normal fielding depth position).
Catchers will be timed in throws from home to second, demonstrate blocking technique and display quickness and agility in fielding bunts and throwing to various bases. Catchers will also catch during the pitching segment to demonstrate receiving/framing skills.
Hitting All Players will participate in the hitting evaluation prior to the pitching segment Double cage with two live pitchers.
Pitchers velocity will be recorded using a Jugs gun (with digital display for recruiters). All pitchers will have the opportunity to show off their respective repertoires during their rotation.
